Caribou CMS is available completely free and unrestricted for up to 100 registered users per site. Once the user limit is reached, your license will de-activate and you will be notified that a license upgrade is necessary.
Download the Trial Version
To download and installation Caribou CMS on your web server. You must meet the following requirements:
- You must have a domain name and web hosting either with us or another company (purchase web hosting from Caribou).
- PHP 4.3 or greater
- MySQL 3.26 or greater
- Apache Web Server
- IonCube Loaders (downloadable for free here).
- FTP access to your web server, with the ability to CHMOD (set file permissions). Download FileZilla if you do not have an FTP client already.
If your website meets those requirements, follow the steps below to download and install the latest version of Caribou CMS.
1) Download the ZIP archive here. Extract the archive to a folder on your computer's hard drive.
2) Upload ALL of the files to your web server in BINARY mode. Uploading in BINARY mode is absolutely critical to the successful installation of Caribou CMS. If the files are not uploaded in BINARY mode, you will receive corruption errors.
3) Access the installation directory (/install) on your web server. If your site is example.com, you will access example.com/install. Follow the steps here.
4) If you have any troubles installing Caribou CMS, please email support@cariboucms.com.
Upgrading to a Paid License
If you decide to upgrade to a paid license, you will simply enter your new license key into the control panel. All of your site data and users will be unaffected. You do not need to download any new files.
