Caribou CMS is a privately owned and operated company based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Caribou has been providing membership website platforms to clients since January, 2008 to clients around the world in places like California, Toronto, and London, UK.

About the Founder

Caribou CMS began as a freelance web project by Brock Ferguson of Caledonia, Ontario, Canada when he was a freelance web developer. Since then, Caribou has grown from a small project to an operation with multiple developers and clients around the world.  Brock currently resides in Vancouver, British Columbia, and spends most of his time managing client customization projects on the Caribou platform.

Ask Brock: Where did the idea for a membership website CMS come from?

I was working as a freelance web developer when I received a couple similar requests for websites with subscription capabilities.  Not wanting to re-invent the wheel, I decided to look around and customize a current option out there.  The problem was that there was no wheel.  The membership website systems that existed were outdated (not by one year, but by many years) and it seemed like their outdatedness grew along with the price tags.

Clearly, something was missing from the current market.  So, I took a bit of extra time on the projects and built a modular CMS platform known as Caribou CMS v1.0.
