Caribou v2.1.2 released with enhanced security, Google Analytics, and more

Today marks a major upgrade for Caribou CMS: version 2.1.2.  This release includes some high-demand features that we've taken the time to integrate just right prior to releasing.  What are these shiny, new features?  Here's the three major changes

  • Google Analytics support with conversion tracking, goals and funnels
You can now enable Google Analytics tracking for your site right in the control panel (no messing with JavaScript).  This integration isn't just for pageviews and standard visitor tracking - you have full conversion tracking to see what visitors are spending the most on your site.

Furthermore, Caribou's system will also make sure that we report links to Google that make Analytics goals and funnels work properly.  With these URL's (specified in your control panel), you can create funnels to help with conversion tracking.  For example, how many users are going to your shipping page then stopping checkout?

  • Login sharing protection for you
Now, in your Settings panel, you can activate an AJAX-based login sharing defense system which defends against users sharing login info and logging in simultaneously.  Caribou tracks active users and will only allow one person to be logged in at any one time.

  • Uploading downloadable products via FTP
No longer does a file over 8MB throw your off your game.  This new release will give you step-by-step instructions on how to upload files via FTP that are too large to upload via your browser in the control panel.

Besides these additions, this new release includes a ton of bug fixes and user experience modifications in both the frontend and control panel side.  Furthermore, it fixes some licensing issues people have been having and made the Install Wizard even more intuitive and helpful than before.
